Full Definition: What is search analytics

Search Analytics is a Google Search Console report that reveals: (1) Queries — the keywords that bring traffic; (2) Pages — which pages rank; (3) Devices — desktop vs. mobile split; (4) Countries — geo-targeting. For each keyword you see: Clicks (traffic), Impressions (how often you appeared), Position (average ranking), CTR. For example: "SEO" ranks position 5 with 150 impressions/month and 7 clicks (4.7% CTR). Analytics reveals opportunities: keywords at position 5-10 (close to the top 3) with a low CTR (we can improve the title tag).

Why Does Search Analytics Matter for SEO?

Data-driven SEO: you do not guess — you analyze real data. Pages ranking 5-10 that get 0 clicks = an optimization opportunity (title/meta). Keywords with 1% vs. 5% CTR at the same position = a difference in the title tag or snippet.
